Here are some products I am loving right now that just so happen to be cruelty free. Gotta love that! First, Nature’s Gate Shampoo with Chamomile and Nature’s Gate Conditioner with Biotin. They both smell fresh, clean and natural. And I’m all about biotin because it promotes hair growth, strength and shine. Both are sulfate free too.
Here is a shot of my hair after being washed with this shampoo and conditioner. I tend to feel like less is more when it comes to hair products so this is my hair with no product in it. Just a good ol’ blow dry and straighten. And I’ll let you in on a little secret…I am not a natural blonde (shhh!). I went blonde after college and have been blonde ever since. As all you fellow blondes out there know, blonde hair tends to be the most damaged since it is repetitively being bleached and having the color taken out of it.
I’m lucky to have an amazing hair colorist, Michaela Bounds at the Julia Bretey Salon, who keeps my hair blonde and healthy. No one else has ever colored my hair despite me living in a completely different state from her for two years! She’s that good! But in between seeing her, this shampoo and conditioner really seem to be keeping my hair shiny and healthy.
In addition to the shampoo and conditioner, I’m always on the hunt for the perfect moisturizer and my current favorite is Kiss My Face Olive & Aloe Moisturizer. The texture is perfect and leaves my skin feeling soft as can be!
Before this year I was admittedly ignorant in regards to how many products are tested on animals and how many products use animal ingredients. Honestly, I still am. I’ve opened my eyes a little bit to the use of animal ingredients and animal testing, but as an animal lover it’s really hard to come to terms with the fact that us humans use animals for everything. So I try to do my part and be a conscious consumer. I’m definitely not perfect but I love to find products that aren’t tested on animals and don’t use animal ingredients…just not necessary!
If you are wondering if your products are tested on animals check the back of their bottles. If the product is not tested on animals it will almost always say. Just like these do:
I purchased the shampoo, conditioner and lotion at my local Whole Foods Market.
Happy shopping!
