Hi to all my sweet readers!
First, I want to thank you all for being so supportive and generous. My blog has been up and running for a little over a month now and I have been overwhelmed by the positive response I’ve received. I want you all to know how much your support means to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Second, I want to let all my female readers, or male readers that enjoy a good mani/pedi, know about the awesome experience I had at tenoverten nail salon in NYC.
Tenoverten first came on my radar many months ago when my friend Courtney started posting pics of her tenoverten manicures on instagram. Courtney is everything cool and chic and her manicures follow suit!
Given the fact that we’d been enamored with Court’s nails, my friend Lauren and I were determined to check out tenoverten when I was in NYC this past week. Tenoverten’s website says that they are a “neighborhood nail salon with a relaxed and social atmosphere whose mission is to bring back the simple pleasure in getting a manicure and pedicure. The salon feels like a beautiful apartment rather than a typical nail salon…” Both statements are so true!
Lauren and I headed to their Soho location and they did not disappoint! We were met at the front desk by Dana who is absolutely lovely. She told us about the salon, the polishes, and got us settled in.
The salon has a great selection of colors and polish brands, including RGB and the salon’s own tenoverten brand. Both brands are five-free, meaning no formaldehyde, DBP, toluene, formaldehyde resin or camphor, and they’re cruelty-free too. Gotta love that!
Lauren, who loves a little edgy style, is all about those Lady Gaga-esque claw shaped nails. I told her that her manicure scares me but she totally pulls it off and makes it look awesome. 🙂
My manicurist was Christina and she did a fantastic job! I would say my manicure was nothing short of perfection. Lauren, in her fashion forward ways, was trying to convince me to do something out of the box from my normal light pink/white polish. So after much debate over which color I should choose Christina helped me pick RGB’s Dew and then did a coat of RGB’s Highlight on top. It was only a slight departure from my normal hues but the subtle mint tones were wild enough for me. 🙂
Despite my manicure being a total of five layers instead of the normal four (since I insisted on adding Highlight on top of my color coats to make it a little less green), my manicure lasted a full seven days with no chipping. And we’re talking no shellac here…just normal nail polish.
And on top of it all we got to talking with Dana from the front desk and turns out she’s a plant-based eater as well! Love connecting with other plant-loving people. 🙂
Tenoverten has also collaborated with JCrew and Sephora. Mark my words we’re going to be seeing a lot of them on the nail scene!
Tenoverten has three locations: Soho, Tribeca and Midtown.
Thank you for the great experience tenoverten! We will most definitely be back.
See ya there!
Also, Courtney is everything cool and chic! 🙂
I’ve been following Tenoverten’s IG since Courtney started posting such awesome manis on her account and linking them. I’ve even given myself a few half-moon manis inspired by Co & Tenoverten! I like it, but I’d love to experience the real think on my next NYC visit!
We will definitely go next time you are in NYC!!
Love!!!! Such a simple, cute mani ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m in!
