Friendly Fashion: Gold Kicks

Maybe you’ve read some of my posts about trying to be a more conscious consumer and you’re interested in giving it a whirl, but you just don’t have the time to search for what is and isn’t cruelty free. That’s where my Friendly Fashion and Favorite Finds posts come in! My hope is that they make it so you have less work to do. I search for the stuff that’s, to the best of my knowledge, kind to us humans, our animal friends and the environment, and then I’ll share it with all of you. Today I’m excited to share with you these gold Steve Madden kicks that are free of leather. Steve Madden actually has a bunch of cute slip-on shoes right now that are leather-free and perfect for fall. Cheers to that! Here are the shoes with what I’m sure will be one of my go-to outfits when the cooler weather sets in.

And by the way, when it comes to being a conscious consumer, you don’t need to be perfect. Of course that would be ideal for all of us…but perfection in everything, all the time, is not realistic! When I encourage us to be more conscious consumers, I’m not saying you need to run to your closet and throw out everything that’s leather. Instead, I’m encouraging us all, myself included, to try to make more of an effort to buy cruelty-free products. Just trying is a big step in the right direction.

Make efforts to be kind to others, to our animal friends and to the environment…but also be kind to yourself! It’s not about being perfect, just about giving it your best. 😉
