It’s time to share highlights from another week of delicious eats here in NYC. This weekly post has turned out to be so valuable for me because I’ve realized it makes me so much more aware of my food choices and how I’ve eaten each week. For example, since starting this feature I’ve realized I eat out so much now that it’s summer and have not been cooking as much as I would like to. It also helps me be aware of when I’ve had a little more sugar than I would like to or when I’ve had a week of really healthy eating. So, I challenge you to try snapping a picture of everything you eat this week and at the end of the week go through the pictures and see what you notice. Did you eat any plant-based meals? Did you go any days without dairy? Did you eat a lot of meat? A lot of sweets? Did you eat pretty healthy? Did you eat a lot of veggies? Reflecting on your food choices can help point you in the right direction to make even healthier choices in the next week to come!
Juice Press has launched their new matcha green tea iced latte and it is so delightful. I think it tastes like green tea ice cream, but of course it’s much healthier for you than ice cream. It’s made from ceremonial grade matcha, raw coconut water, cashews and a touch of honey.
I headed back to The Squeeze to get more of their plant-based mac and cheese. It is so, so delicious. It’s made with sprouted quinoa pasta and raw cashew cheddar cheese. Who ever needs dairy mac and cheese when vegan mac and cheese this delicious exists?!
This is the tempeh reuben at Angelica Kitchen in the East Village. It’s made with baked marinated tempeh which is seasoned with caraway and cumin and then topped with a dairy-free Russian dressing, sauerkraut and lettuce. Tempeh, pronounced tem-pey, is made from fermented soybeans.
The usual! My favorite Chef Aimee salad from Sun in Bloom. Massaged kale, collard greens, warm roasted root vegetables, beans, spiced pumpkin seeds, sauerkraut, wakame, sesame ginger dressing, and cayenne pepper. This salad looks so delicious in person that multiple times people have stopped me on the street to ask what it is!
People’s Pops popsicles are so much more than I ever thought popsicles could be! These popsicles are all natural and handmade from local fruit. They are always so satisfying on these hot NYC days. This one was red plum sour cherry and I loved every bit of it.
And last, but certainly not least, this week I got to try vegan donuts from Dun Well Doughnuts for the first time. They were just as amazing as I imagined (and hoped!) they would be. They are spectacularly delicious! If you’re in Brooklyn definitely check them out.
Have a wonderful and sweet Sunday!

Yes you need to!! So many delicious things to eat!
Oh my gosh, that salad looks SO GOOD. And doughnuts are always an excellent choice! 😉
Hehe I agree…ALWAYS! Thanks for stopping by!
