22 Gorgeous Faux Fur & Down Alternative Winter Coats

“Do you have any suggestions for cute cruelty-free winter jackets?” was the text I received from my friend in London yesterday. My response: “OMG I love that you’re even asking me that…YES! So many!” And as I was compiling my list of brands for her to check out, I realized you guys could use this information too! Because just like my friend, you might be interested in making cruelty-free shopping choices but you’re just not sure where to start. And that’s why I’m here! Because I do know where to look for these sorts of things from years of looking for them myself. And buying animal free products is not only good for animals, but good for the environment too. So today I’ve compiled a list of my absolute favorite winter coats right now. I’m seriously lusting over all of them. They’re all gorgeous, on trend and super cozy. I want them all! They’re all wool-free, down-free and faux fur instead of real fur. And keep in mind I’m a Minnesota girl originally – so I know how to pick a warm winter jacket. 🙂 Which one is your favorite?!

• Check product descriptions.
• Where it says “filling” avoid coats that say down or feathers.
• Instead choose coats that say the filling is made up of polyester or other manmade materials.
• Always look for the word faux before the word fur.
• Avoid coats that say they contain wool or shearling.
• Avoid coats that have leather detailing.
