Today I’m bringing you the holy grail in vegan fashion…vegan leather boots [that actually look good]! Not only did I find one cute pair of vegan leather boots this year, but I found 25. Can you believe it?! I consider myself pretty adept at finding animal-friendly versions of just about anything. But even I will admit that finding leather and suede free shoes that are actually cute is no easy task. However, this time around I found everything from ankle boots to over-the-knee boots and flat boots to heeled boots. My boots pictured above are from Zara and I love the gold detailing. The boots caught my eye first and it was only after they caught my eye that I realized they were leather free too.
And the good thing about vegan leather and suede products is that they generally tend to be less expensive than their genuine leather and suede counterparts. Not because there is something inherently cheaper looking about them, but because there was no life that had to be raised in order to make them. Aka, to have genuine leather and suede, you first need to raise the animal that it will come from – and that long process of raising an animal from birth costs money. And that’s in addition to the fact that raising a life just to take for our own purposes is pretty cruel if you ask me.
So with all these vegan-friendly leather boots, it’s a win-win all around. Stay warm, be fashionable and save animals while you’re at it. 🙂
