I have had this post all ready to go for months and was ready to post it in early March but then as the world went into lockdown, suddenly a post on vegan and cruelty-free gel polish wasn’t very relevant.
But, now that nail salons have opened back up in many places this is a topic I am eager to share with you guys because vegan and cruelty-free gel polish was so hard to come by…until I discovered Londontown nail polish!
Londontown is a woman owned, family run business here in the US (despite what you might think from their namesake), that makes both regular and gel polishes that are so good and could rival any of the uber popular salon brands out there.
What sets them apart is not only that they offer vegan and cruelty-free gel polish (one of the hardest things to find ever!) but both their gel and regular polish lines are clean, effective and long lasting. Their regular polish line is even 16+ free, meaning they are free of 16+ harmful chemicals found in traditional nail polish brands.
The week before NYC went into lockdown I got a manicure at a salon and brought my own Londontown gel polish (pictured in the photos above in color: afternoon tea) and absolutely loved it. It works just as well as any other gel polish, if not better, without any animal testing. Sadly the big name brands typically found in salons (Essie, OPI, etc) DO test on animals, so Londtown is a cleaner, kinder alternative.
My sister bought their nail lakurs (that’s their normal nail polishes) recently so I tried them out when we were back home earlier this month. The lakurs are so great too – beautiful colors and super long lasting, even when I was swimming all day.
And on top of all that, it seems like a great time to start bringing our own polishes to the salons anyways for cleanliness purposes, so I highly recommend checking out Londontown!
Here’s a little preview of just a few of their many colors below.
Take me to the Londontown site!
I wonder if Chinese polishes, like Beetles, are really vegan and cruelty-free.
Good question! As a general rule of thumb Chinese products are not cruelty-free because China still requires animal testing by law. š
Iām SO excited to check these out! As a vegan I understand how how it is to find vegan and cruelty free polish. Thanks for sharing! š
Yayyy! I am so glad to hear this. Thank you for your comment! xo
