BUNNY CARE TIPS

In addition to my work with rescue dogs, I have been mom to two rescue bunnies, Hank & Henry. I get  questions all  the time  about how I  care for them,  so here are my  top tips for helping your bunny live a long, healthy life.

These are my rescue boys! Henry lived for ten long, healthy years and Hank is still going strong at over 12 years old!

What should I  feed my bunny?

Bunnies need fresh water, hay and lots of greens. My bunnies' favorite greens include: romaine, cilantro, parsley and kale.

Can my bunny live outside?

No! Domesticated bunnies do not have the same instincts wild bunnies do to keep them safe outside, especially around predators. Therefore, pet bunnies should live safely in your home with you.

Where do bunnies go to the bathroom?

Rabbits can actually be trained to use litterboxes quite easily!

Do bunnies smell?!

No! Healthy bunnies have no scent detectable to humans.

Buy or adopt a bunny?

Adopt! Just like dogs and cats, shelters are inundated with bunnies. There are so many animals, of all kinds, waiting in shelters to find their forever home.
